The TMSG delivers contracts for services funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). Current contracts include:
Humanitarian Settlement Services (HSS) and Settlement Grants program (SGP).
The Humanitarian Settlement Services (HSS) is a contract signed in April 2011to settle humanitarian entrants into the local community..
Settlement support is provided under HSS to refugee families from the time of arrival up to 6 months, or possibly up to 12 months if required. This project is staffed by a Programs Manager (TMSG Manager), Case Managers, Accommodation Services staff, the Volunteer Coordinator and Support Workers and and Principles of HSSservice delivery, include respect for individuals and cultural values, maximization of choice and involvement in decision making, promotion of competence, and engagement in the wider community.
TMSG is obligated to provide a range of services under HSS:
• Case Coordination and Management,
inclusive of pre-arrival planning and on arrival needs assessment and planning; and making sure services and referrals are delivered in a coordinated way.

Banking systems Medicare Centrelink
- Accommodation Support including initial accommodation , Short term accommodation and Long Term Accommodation (when a lease is signed on the private market)
Initial accommodation is provided. Assistance in finding long term accommodation and tenancy training are also provided.
-Assessment of and referral for mental health support
- Volunteer Coordination
Volunteer contributions are a very important part of assisting entrants to settle, and are managed as required. This could include reinforcement of tenancy training, use of public transport, English tutoring.
- Orientation to Australia inclusive of a wide range of information to assist newly arrived refugees to understand Australian way of life.
Local Area Coordination
Settlement Grants Program (SGP)
The Settlement Grants Program provides individual and community assistance to migrants and former HSS entrants who have arrived in Townsville in the past 5 years. Individual support is provided through information and referral, group information sessions, and an Expo in cooperation with major service providers. Topics presented in the information sessions may include:
• parenting
• budgeting
• Australian law
• Accessing community services such as Fire Department, Ergon Energy and Ambulance.
