I grew up in Nairobi and when I was 10, my Eritrean best friend and her family left for Sweden. I did not understand why they had to leave only to learn they were refugees. 

Many more have since left and my brother who works in a refugee camp in Kenya always told me their stories of resilience. When I arrived in Townsville, I knew that I wanted to be part of the settlement process and am excited to work at TMSG.
