Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP)
Empowering Refugees
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs and Subcontracted by Multicultural Australia, The Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) assists newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers to build the skills and knowledge they need to become self-reliant and active members of our society. The program provides a range of services, including
- On Arrival support (Airport Pickup, Short – Term Accomodation, Health Assessments)
- Case Management
- Specialised and Intensive Services
- Like Skill trainings
- Accomodation and Housing Support,
- Assistance in accessing Health, Education and Employment Services
- Advocacy and Referrals to Social and Family Support Services
- Facilitating connections to the Community.
Refugee and Humanitarian entrants remain in the program for 6 – 18 months depending on their needs.


Specialised and Intensive Services
Specialised and Intensive Services (SIS) is a component of the Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) available to humanitarian entrants and other eligible visa holders who have complex needs.
SIS offer clients short term needs-based support to help them access appropriate mainstream services and develop the necessary skills to manage their needs independently.
SIS are delivered by HSP service providers on behalf of the Department.
