ABOUT TMSG
Townsville Multicultural Support Group Inc. (TMSG) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to assisting individuals and families arriving through the Australian Government’s Humanitarian Program, as well as migrants who choose to settle in Townsville and its surrounding areas.
TMSG provides essential support services, including settlement assistance, community integration programs, and advocacy to help individuals and families navigate their new environment, access resources, and build meaningful connections within the local community. Through its initiatives, TMSG fosters inclusivity, cultural understanding, and empowerment, ensuring that newcomers feel welcomed and supported as they establish their lives in Australia.
Our teams support them in three keyways:
- The Welcome Team ensures a friendly and culturally appropriate reception, while managing finances and administration smoothly.
- The Settlement Team supports refugees and migrants in their initial settlement by providing access to essential community services, housing, family functioning support, mental health and well-being services, education, employment, and recreational resources for the first five years in Australia.
- The Employment and Community Engagement Team works in partnership with other community services to facilitate mutual engagement, employment training, and educational programs, helping newly emerging communities integrate and thrive as they settle in Australia.
