This is part of a co-designed health literacy series developed by TMSG in partnership with refugee and multicultural communities in Townsville, with funding from the Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN).

Created for community, by community, the series draws on community experiences, questions and feedback to make the Australian healthcare system easier to understand and navigate. It aims to foster inclusion, cultural understanding and empowerment, helping people feel more welcome, informed and confident when accessing healthcare.

The series is also about learning from each other. While supporting refugees and migrants to better understand healthcare in Australia, the videos offer clinicians insight into the lived experiences and perspectives that can shape a person’s healthcare journey. By building understanding on both sides, we hope to support more empathetic, culturally responsive and accessible care.
