Community Action for Multicultural Society (CAMS)

Building Bridges Between Cultures for a Stronger Community

Funded by the Queensland government, Community Action for Multicultural Society (CAMS) aims to build inclusive communities throughout Queensland. It ensures that services are accessible and welcoming to individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

The initiative aims to promote a sense of belonging by making sure all community services are responsive to the needs of people from various cultures. This helps to strengthen connections and support everyone in the community.

TMSG offers a variety of activities to help migrants and refugees integrate into the community.

  • Gardening activities
  • Job-ready workshops
  • English conversation classes
  • Digital Literacy workshops
  • Eco-enzyme workshops
  • Celebrations and Events

The activities promote social connection, personal growth, and skill development. They help participants feel confident and connected in their new environment.

Multicultural Women’s Group

The Multicultural Women’s Group provides a space for women from diverse backgrounds to connect and build community. It offers workshops, social events, and activities to promote personal growth and social interaction, especially for women from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Gatherings are held on the last Friday of every month from 10 am to 12 noon, creating a sense of belonging and helping to build confidence. Women gain leadership skills, form meaningful relationships, and thrive in a supportive environment.
